2.1 Key Features
Pain point 1
From the interviews, I've learned that one of the most common concerns during the planning process is the fear of canceling or modifying their established itinerary due to uncontrollable external factors, which can significantly impact the overall experience and safety, causing many to abandon their travel plans altogether.
How might we alleviate fear of external factors to reduce plan abandonment?
Solution
Real Time Alert
Provides visitors with current and relevant information on park conditions, events, and emergencies. It equips visitors with the necessary information for decision-making and potential plan adjustments.
Pain point 2
Another significant factor I learned is the difficulty in estimating expenses due to the variability of outdoor activities. Some interviewees expressed that they often exceed their budgeted expenses, leading to frustration and a reduced inclination to visit national parks.
How might we provide accurate cost estimates for outdoor activities to minimize budget uncertainties and encourage greater visitation to national parks?
Solution
Live Budget
Enables users to track their expenses in real-time, automatically updating and calculating expenses whenever there's a change in their plans. Ensuring users stay on track with their spending goals.
Pain point 3
Due to limited options and long distances between attractions, visitors in the wilderness often have to select only a few places to visit. Some interviewees mentioned the challenge of reaching a consensus in larger groups with asynchronous communication. Excessive compromises have resulted in subpar travel experiences.
How might we improve decision-making and foster group consensus to enhance the travel experience for groups?
